Okay, so it is Monday. But we can all try to be happy, right?
At least I've got a fun and simple project to share with you today.
And it's all 'cause lots of my blogging friends and I swapped some thrifty flea market finds. Just look at all those beautiful bloggers…
Swap It Like It's Hot!
The idea is that we each went shopping for something interesting at a thrift store or flea market, but we weren't allowed to spend more than $10-15. Then we shipped that something off to another blogger. And someone else entirely sends us a fun little package.
And then we were to each work our magic!
Here's what Charlotte sent me:
I couldn't quite incorporate everything all at once.
And truth be told I didn't want to waste any of the goodies she sent me.
So for today I'm only sharing one project.
Don't worry, I've got some big plans up my sleeve – especially for that pretty little village paper house book!
Vintage Map Pennant Banner
If you're new here, you may not know this little tidbit…
I have a thing for pennant banners.
I kinda like maps too.
So that pretty New York map from AAA got all gussied up as a pennant banner!
Oh and that there's a sneak peek of our new kitchen pantry shelves…but shhh, don't tell anyone yet. 😉
- vintage map
- hemp cord
- hole punch
1. Open map all the way. Draw a horizontal line along the horizontal fold closest to you. Along the bottom edge, find halfway point between each fold and mark with a pencil. Now draw triangles from the fold line to the halfway marks as shown.
2. Cut out triangles/pennants and hole punch twice as shown.
3. String and hang!
What do you think? Are you a fan of maps? What about pennant banners?
Curious about everyone else's swap items and projects? Well, go see what they did then! (Scroll down to link up your very own thrifted flea market finds!)
