I bought supplies for a Holiday hot chocolate bar weeks ago.
Since then, I've been waiting for inspiration to strike.
And waiting…and waiting…and waiting.
See I wanted to create a pretty hot chocolate bar. With a whole new chalkboard drawing to go with it.
It's the chalkboard drawing that takes a lot of time.
Finally on Friday morning (when I was supposed to be cleaning the house – go figure!) the inspiration came.
Apparently the cure for lack of inspiration is cleaning floors and toilets.
I know. Don't say it. I'm so weird.
Anyway, the Holiday hot chocolate bar is done and ready just in time for family and friends to come and visit.
I also got out our little bar cart. You know, so it's ready for the Holidays too.
3 Essentials for a Holiday Hot Chocolate Bar
1. Lots of Mugs
Of course a hot chocolate bar would be pretty useless without mugs to hold the hot chocolate and to cradle in cold hands. Choose mugs that suit your decor style or your personality. Have lots for family, friends and other guests.
2. Fancy Fixin's
You could have plain hot chocolate, but if you're creating a hot chocolate bar you might as well have all the fancy fixin's. Here are a few of my favorites:
- chocolate spoons
- cinnamon sticks
- candy canes
- flavored syrups
- rock sugar
Of course you could have Bailey's or rum on hand for the adults too. It is the Holidays after all!
3. Pretty Jars and Containers
With all those fancy fixin's you're going to need containers to hold them in. Mason jars, tin cans, vases, mint julip cups, etc all make great hot chocolate bar containers.
