I love me a good pennant banner!
(If you've been around here very long, I'm sure you've noticed.)
And when I first saw an All-Occasion Chalkboard Banner made from chalk cloth I was smitten! I mean what's not to love; the chalkboard craze, the fact that it's reusable for any occasion or that it looked like a super simple DIY craft project?
So earlier this summer I created my very own all-occasion chalkboard banner.
It was meant to be revealed when we finished our entryway makeover…only that's another of our recent renovations that's taking longer than we thought. In fact it my chalkboard banner hung in the entryway with “Happy Canada Day” on it until last week. Shameful, I know.
Make Your Own All Occasion Chalkboard Banner
- 1/4 meter Chalk cloth (I bought mine here)
- 1/4 meter non-wool felt (gray for back)
- 3 yards bias tape (your choice of color)
- black thread
- old rag
I followed the directions by Delia Creates. So instead of re-writing her fabulous tutorial here (since the creative credit goes to her), I'm going to direct you to the wonderfully written and photographed step-by-step instructions on Delia Creates.
Go ahead have a look…I'll wait. But come right back. 🙂
Pretty awesome (yet simple), yes?!
Be sure to come back in a couple of days for our house tour (as part of the All Things Home Fall Home Tour) for loads of fall inspiration. Here's a sneak peak of our (unfinished) entryway all dressed up for autumn…
Do you like banners? Do you prefer colorful fabric or scrapbook paper banners? Or are you more of a burlap, canvas or aged book page banner type? What do you think of our chalkboard banner?
