Since Dean recently turned 40, we’ve been thinking of parties a lot. I’ve been crushing on a red and aqua theme, with perhaps a bit of white and burlap. Here are some of my fave inspiration photos; most of them are from etsy – go figure!

What party themes do you like? How about colours? Are you a “buy the theme from the party place” kind of person or do you prefer something original and DIY’d?

We had a red and aqua wedding three years ago, just as the trend was about to break. Everyone gave me a weird look when I said my colors, but it was the best! Three years later, I am still madly in love with that color combo. Can’t wait to see pics of what you do!
That sounds incredible!!! Do you have photos?
I’ve passed the Versatile Blogger Award to you. Check it out! http://designdreamsbyanne.blogspot.com/2012/01/versatile-blogger-award-liebster-blog.html
Love this color combination. The kitchen in our last house was red, turquoise and white- kinda retro. It was always cheery!
Cheery is a good word for it!
I personally LOVE red and aqua together-often in my clothing choices, although as the mom of 2 little ones it mostly makes me think of Thing 1 and Thing 2 from Cat in the Hat now! I am definately a DIYer for a party–even if it involves a character cake, etc-I like to make custom bunting banners and pretty food displays!
I know I thought “Dr. Suess” too, but I like it anyway!
I’m sure I could dig some up – I used a lot of white (we got married in January) with aqua and red accents. I will try to add some in the next few days
Might be fun to reminisce (no idea how to spell that word!)
Cool! Do share!
I’m a diy type party gal, unless it’s a party emergency and my creativity lightbulb is dim. The older I have got the more I believe if done right any color combo’s can look excellent. And how cute are those jars with straws!!!
