Ramblings & Apologies

First off I need to apologize.

UpCountry Axel Dining Table

I was totally going to do a Holiday Link Party today.

Instead we went to a funeral.

Restoration Hardware

Our sister-in-law’s (Dean’s oldest brother’s wife’s) Mom died this week. We spent time with her nearly every Christmas, summer or birthday on that side of the family for the last seventeen years. Today we said good-bye and gave our love to her family.

Pottery Barn – Benchwright

And then we came home to tidy up.

The inspection on THIS house is tomorrow morning, so we want to be sure everything is clean and accessible for the potential new owners and their inspector.

(The house is 70 years old, so she needs a little help to look her best you know!)

This is the last of the conditions on the sale and purchase in order for us to move in less than a month, so we’re really excited.

Ikea – Karlstad

If you follow us on Facebook, you know that I haven’t slept a solid night in about 6 weeks. One of the girls has bronchitis (she’s on antibiotics finally this week) and hasn’t been sleeping well at all. Not from coughing, just from sleeplessness. I feel like I’ve been run over by a truck when I get up every morning.

Decor Rest – Alessandra Collection

Dean’s work is SUPER busy lately, so he’s gone from looking after things while his boss was away to running around like crazy with orders and temp guys and such. He loves it. Funny guy.

Ikea – Akurum

When we have a spare minute, Dean and I are both enjoying dreaming of  the new house. While it IS move-in ready, it’s going to need more than a few tweaks for our family:

  • the kitchen is good, but not maximized at all, so new cabinets and such have been looked at
  • THIS house is selling WITH the dining room table, chairs, banquette and hutch (!) so a whole new dining set is required
  • we will have both a living room AND a family room – which means at least one new sofa will need to be shopped for too
Ikea

To say we are both exhausted and needing a vacation is an understatement. We can hardly wait until the move is done and we can just enjoy Christmas – whether we’re surrounded by boxes or not! Ha!

What’s new with you?

P.S. The source lists and projects from the girls’ room is coming soon as promised…just as soon as I can focus my thoughts for more than two minutes at a time!

P.S.S. We have a fun Christmas project collaboration coming up with a few of our favourite bloggers. Be sure to watch for it!

P.S.S.S. The photos in this post are just a few of the ideas we’ve been looking at for the new house!

We’ve been looking at Ikea cabinets too, to ‘maximize’ our kitchen. Perhaps we should compare notes sometime! We could use your expertise when it comes to maximizing space.
