Policies & Disclosures

Giveaway Policies

More awesome giveaways are coming your way, so some policies and rules need to be in place here at {aka}|design. I must say I admire John and Sherry for the extreme organization of their Freebie Policies (they set up their own policies and have them centralized for easy reference). We hope they don’t mind that we’re gonna do the same-ish, just so we don’t have to repeat ourselves with every AKA Design giveaway. Here goes.

Q. Where do the giveaways come from?
A. For some giveaways our sponsors generously donate the items/gift certificates/discount codes to be used in each giveaway. Which means we are not responsible for the actual prizes or discount codes. If there is a prize problem it must be taken up with the company who sponsored the giveaway. If it happens to be tickets to a local event, and we have to mail them to you, they are not our responsibility once we deliver them to Canada Post. Otherwise we have nothing to do with the disbursement and shipping of prizes, that responsibility belongs to the sponsor of the giveaway. For our Goodies Giveaways (started in 2014) we choose the items and ship them. However, once Canada Post has your package it is out of our hands. Please be kind, we do giveaways because we love you!

Q. What’s in it for {aka}|design?
A. Your undying love and devotion. Just kidding. We like to reward our readers for visiting us and what better way (besides the great writing and fabulous information we already give you – ha ha!) than giving you free stuff?! We also have the use of discount codes.

Q. Who is eligible to win?
A. Anyone who can figure out how to comment on the giveaway post can enter, except us of course. That’s it. Since, we’re in Canada and we have many readers in the U.S., we try to run contests that are valid in both countries. Sometimes we can even wrangle an international givewaway, since our readership has expanded. Please read the rules for each giveaway.

Giveaway Legal mumbo-jumbo: Dean and Shannon Acheson and AKA Design have the right to run any contest as we see fit. We also reserve the right to pick winners in any manner we choose and deem fair. Rules, means of entry, prizes and sponsors may be changed by us at any time without prior notice. Sponsors also reserve the right to terminate giveaways and make changes at any time, and our readers will be notified as to how and why whenever possible.
