Girls’ Room Before

**Warning: this post is very PINK. If you have an aversion to PINK – or even PURPLE – look away.**

We’ve mentioned it a few times in the last several months.

We’ve said we’d do it.

We’ve said it’s coming.

Now we’re really doing it.

Re-doing the girls room, that is.

It really doesn’t need a TOTAL makeover. (Which is a really good thing for our budget!)

Both girls still like the colour scheme of pink and purple, with a hint of apple green.

Much of the furniture still suits the space – some has even been moved in from our bedroom. (Including a couple of very old dressers we love and the bunk bed that we’ve promised y’all a tut for!)

It really just needs more style, more organization and more oomph.

The room needs to grow up a bit, just like our girls have.

Stay tuned for the projects, paint jobs and styling that are coming your way over the next couple of weeks. It’s gonna be some fun!

(P.S. The colour scheme for this space was chosen entirely by our girls’ – who’s favourite colours are pink and purple. While it’s not a look I would choose – remember me? shades of white, grey and taupe – Dean and I believe our kids should get a say in how their own space looks. We hope you’ll bear with the colourful makeover!)

I am in the same boat with my oldest’s room. She loves pink and purple, and when I brought home like 10 paint samples of each color, she picked the most, um, vibrant ones I had. Good thing I narrowed things down for her first–I would have ended up with hot pink and magenta! I’m looking forward to seeing what you’re doing. I have 3 girls, and I’m almost done with my oldest’s room.

Yes, I definitely pre-selected a few things for them. We are going to have some magenta but I’ve toned it down with some deep purple too. I can’t wait to see it all put together – rather than in a big pile in our front hallway! Have fun finishing your daughter’s room!

Sounds like you have some fun changes planned for your girls’ space!! I do the same, let my boys decide how to decorate their rooms and let them have a voice in the decisions. I can’t wait to see what projects you do in here and how it turns out – I know it will look absolutely amazing!
