NO this is NOT our way of saying we’re having another baby. We’re not. Three is good.
Just to be clear.
I totally wished there was more available by way of inexpensive yet stylish nursery furniture when our kids were babies.
I mean, really the only options were Sears, Toys R Us, expensive boutiques and Ikea (if you were lucky enough to live near one). And even then, options were limited.
But NOW! The fun I could have decorating nurseries.
Those of you who are having little ones are so lucky!
Get the Look for Less | Eclectic Nursery
Another thing (besides lack of selection) that drove me crazy when my kids were babies was the fact that all the nursery decor available was cutesy and not much good beyond the first year or two.
I mean, how many times must one redecorate a room?
So, for our imaginary “get the look for less” room, I’ve gone with an eclectic nursery look that is not only uber stylish, it’s incredibly practical as well. A crib that will transition to a real bed. Lighting that will last through the teen years. And a chair that will serve you well (with a side table and blanket) for middle of the night feeding sessions and later on for lounging with a good book or texting friends.
*Get the Look for Less is based on basic pricing, no shipping or taxes
See what we mean? You can totally get practically the same look for less!
In case you’re curious what my brain is conjuring up for the rest of the room, I’m also picturing a plush area rug over hand-scraped hickory laminate, library style bookshelves and lots of colorful front covers on display (like this one by Kristine at The Painted Hive).
What do you think? Can you picture it? Have you found any good deals lately? Any fab places to shop for bargains?
