It would seem that in an effort to streamline, google is shutting down some of it’s companies/sites. Fortunately, the only one that affects us with this here blog is the google friend finder/friend connect. You know, the thing that you click to follow a blog:
Well, anyway, google has decided that only blogger sites will still have this tool as of March 1st. Since {aka}|design is on the WordPress platform…we will no longer be using google friend finder/friend connect.
BUT we wanted to give those 400+ of you who follow us via the friend finder/connect (and anyone else who doesn’t subscribe yet – HINT HINT!) enough time to follow us some other way.
For full-on post reading you can….
Get our posts sent to you by email every time we post (3-5 times a week). Easy peasy!
If you’re an rss feed person, you can read our posts in a plethora of online readers.
Aditionally, you can see what we’re up to with these other sites:
Keep up with us on facebook…including conversations, tips & extra photos.
Follow our tweets…everything from where we are, to what we’re buying and who we’re following.
What are we pinning? All things DIY, home decor and even the occassional outfit. Come see!

So, what’s your favourite way to keep up with your favourite blogs?
I’m on Bloglovin too and I love receiving my blogs this way. The only downside is that they sometimes don’t arrive until the day after depending on what time you post. I’m going to follow you there now that I know you’re on it.
Awesome! Feeds by email sometimes don’t arrive until the next day either. Once you realize that it’s easy to adjust.
I just go through my google reader. As long as I get the posts all of whom I’ve subscribed to, I’m happy.
The google reader…which you sign up to receive blogs via their rss button and your email address, yes?

I use google reader as well. It all comes on one page and you can add any blogs you want to it. I’m disappointed so many are leaving blogger, I believe that it helped many of us find blogs and make our own and I feel I should be loyal to google.
I like google for many things…especially image search. Blogger and WordPress both have advantages tho and one must choose based on their desired options. You can still read our blog in google reader by subscribing at the very top of all our pages and then selecting google reader.
It’s just the friend connect that won’t be available…by google’s choice not ours.

i use bloglovin and normally very happy with it….i do have a ?…….if i follow a blog on bloglovin but i don’t follow right on the blog( i always used GFC then copy pasted to bloglovin….so if just done on bloglovin does the blog writer get the credit that i am following?
