Have you tried making rosettes yet? So fun!
Okay, so truth be told I used my rosettes for a necklace…but you could use them on a pillow, a wreath, a frame or any number of home decor projects. I may embellish a pillow or two in the near future. This was such an easy project. And aren’t they pretty?
You will need:
- fabric
- glue gun and glue sticks
- scissors
I bought some scrap fabric from my local fabric shop. Almost anything would have worked. I specifically wanted grey t-shirt type material to make casual rosettes. 89% cotton 11% spandex. Perfect!
The first step is to cut a strip of fabric. This will make one rosette. My strips were about 1.5-2 inches wide and about 2 feet long. You could go bigger or smaller depending on the size of rosette you want to make.
The second step is to tie a knot at one end of your strip of fabric.

Then twist and wrap fabric around the knot, hot-gluing a little bit at a time. If your fabric is different on each side, be sure to twist randomly to bring out the full pattern/texture.
Once you have a rosette shaped to your liking, tuck the end of the fabric strip under and glue.

If you are creating something with more than one rosette, repeat the steps above. Then arrange them how you’d like and glue or sew in place.
Just for fun here’s how to make a necklace, just cut some felt for the back and glue or stitch on necklace pieces (also available at the fabric store or Michael’s) in between the rosettes and the felt.
So, have you made any rosette’s yet? Would you? What would you embellish with them?

I love these rosettes. I am going to have to try to make some. What a great way to recycle stained Tshirts, and other clothing as well as scraps of fabric. Thanks for linking up for Friend Friday.
