Creating with the Stars 2014

I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of a wee little contest called Creating with the Stars?

It was previously called Crafting with the Stars – back when we originally participated in the fall of 2011. Since then Jess and Monica over at East Coast Creative (who we actually competed against in 2011!) have taken it over, revamped it and made it a MUCH larger once a year event called Creating with the Stars.

Anyway, a couple of weeks ago a blogging friend asked on Facebook if anyone in our group was going to enter. And after much discussing with Dean, we decided to enter. So up went the battens in the dining room – a finishing touch I wanted to add anyway – and the dining room became our contest entry. Number 220 or so out of 299!

Fast forward a few days. Imagine my surprise on Monday morning when I woke up to many Facebook messages saying congratulations – for Dean and I had been chosen as one of the twelve contestants!!!

Each of the four weeks of competition has a different theme and Dean and I are currently building our knock-off...Dean is working as I type.

All the contestants are partnered with “Star” bloggers…

Our blog Star is the adorable Katie Bower from Bower Power.

There are lots of awesome prizes…

And a Celebrity Judge…

So. Much. Excitement.

Our first project will be up for voting on Monday and Tuesday next week…we’ll be back to tell you when and where. But we won’t be able to tell you what because all the projects are ANONYMOUS! You heard me, no one will know which project is ours until after voting. I’m curious to see if you will be able to recognize our style. :)

Have a great Wednesday everyone. I’ll be back tomorrow with our Weekend re-Treat Link Party and on Friday with a super simple slow cooker recipe.
