Anyone remember our zinc-look letters?
Well, after teaching a small workshop, they now look like this:
The ladies sort of needed something on which to test the rub ‘n buff colours…so I sacrificed my letters.
But that’s okay…I went bigger with some new letters!
Side note: If you also remember, our letters were a knock off of Anthropologie’s Zinc Letters (theirs cost $18 each, mine cost about $6 or $7). They were also featured on Knock Off Decor’s website.
I found our new letters (unfinished of course) at a Walmart Supercentre in Scarborough. They aren’t metal or wood. They are pre-primed mdf!
See the size difference of the letters in the photo above?! Love the new ones!
I followed the same steps as the original letters: Paint with PPG’s Knight’s Armour (leftover from our Magnetic Chalkboard Project), let dry, apply pewter rub ‘n buff.

And now we have totally new letters!
What do you think? Do you like the old ones or the new ones better?

I like them both for different reasons, but the scale of these looks good in the space.
Your letters look super cool, really! They also look great where you put them. I’ve linked this to my wall art post too today, nice job!
Hi Heather! Thanks for commenting and linking to our project – so sweet if you!
These are exactly what I am looking for! They look awesome! I love the larger ones. What department in Walmart did you find them in? Crafts? I noticed you are Canadian, are you currently living there? I am thinking if you found them in Canada, Walmart in Texas may not carry the same things.
Good Job!
where do you find these letters at walmart?
I found them in the craft dept. Good luck!
Did you need a whole tube of the rub n’ buff for this project or have you been able to do multiple projects with the same tube?
