Friday Five – May 4, 2012

On Fridays we have a little extra fun at {aka}|design – because we share five random things from our week: design inspiration, amazing etsy shops, fun family stuff. Sometimes we just share things that were amusing. In any case, Friday Five it is!

I’ve already done a few round up type posts this week, so I hope you don’t mind another for Friday Five! Life has kept me hopping this week and I didn’t have time to do any DIY projects of my own  {GASP! The horror!} !!!

1. As I’m writing this, I’m also packing for our church’s Women’s Getaway weekend. I have the honour of teaching a workshop called Creating a Home That Says Welcome. Kind of sound like our ebook, eh? Anyway, I thought this Albert Hadley quote sort of spoke to what I’ll be talking about.

2. After running some errands yesterday, I took my kids down to the lake for a walk. It was a little more blustery than we bargained for. but it was really nice.

3. A few weeks ago we received and email from a new company called Factou. They sent us the most fabulous bean bag chair! So cool! Steven and Chris got the same one. And this is the chair they have on sale right now (shown above in red, but also available in black and green)! Check out Factou for a new shopping experience!

4. I went for a mani pedi with a friend on the weekend. It. Was. Heavenly. The massage chairs were incredible (don’t worry Dean, they don’t compare to your massages!). The mani has since worn off, but due in part to wearing socks all weeks, the pedi is still going strong. I don’t think I’ve ever had a pedi before, so it was a really special treat. And no, those are not my feet. Photo from here.

5. A couple of weeks ago we shared our Martha Stewart inspired small office space makeover. This week I found an online shop called See Jane Work, that sells some fun office organization stuff that would coordinate with Martha’s so well! Fun, yes? {And I love the chairs in the pic too!}

Well, I’d better jet, my to-do list is pretty long still!

What are you up to this weekend? Is the weather going to be nice enough for yard work where you are? What about parties or weddings - is it wedding season yet?

    That pedicure is definitely one of the best feeling especially if it has additional services like scrubbing and even massage..
