We’re in the midst of several spring projects around here. Some are bigger and some are smaller - we like to mix things up and give you some tough projects (like our Restoration Hardware knockoff shelves) and some easy do-it-in-an-afternoon type projects (like our headboard)! This little DIY spring canvas is one of those latter projects – easy – and adds just a touch of spring to the living room, although it may migrate to another space after we finish all of our spring projects.
To make your own Spring Canvas, all you need are a few paint colours, some letter stamps, paint brushes, a canvas (I bought mine at the Dollar Store) and some walnut Distressing Ink. The first step is to layer your paint with a large brush. This does not have to be neat at all. I started with an aqua blue, blow dried and then layered with linen white.
And then you just rub on some Distressing Ink, and stamp with whatever phrase you like! I chose to use a portion of the spring poem on our dining room wall: il neige des fleurs – it’s snowing flowers.
It’s a super easy, very cheap (I had everything on hand) little touch of spring!

Now it’s your turn!!!

Only three rules:
-
Your project must be created by you in some way. BIG OR SMALL! Have fun!
-
Link back to us – BY NAME IN YOUR POST - either by text or button that’s found on our sidebar.
-
Please do not submit the same project you’ve submitted before.
PLEASE LET YOUR FRIENDS KNOW ABOUT THE PARTY…WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE EVEN MORE PEOPLE SEE YOUR PROJECTS!!!

Exactly!
Very sweet canvas. I’ve seen some at the craft stores and wondered what to do with them.

There are so many things you can do! You can cover them with fabric as art (http://akadesign.ca/?p=6173) or as a bulletin board (http://akadesign.ca/?p=7066) too!
Love the shabbiness of this, thanks for sharing!
