Friday Five, March 9, 2012

On Fridays we have a little extra fun at {aka}|design – because we share five random things from our week: design inspiration, amazing etsy shops, fun family stuff. Sometimes we just share things that were amusing. In any case, Friday Five it is!

1. Lemonademakinmama has these great screen-printed napkins for sale in her etsy shop. I really love the place setting she set up for the photo; the texture of  the placemat/charger, the embellished plates, the bold typography, the crisp glass, the fuzzy moss. Yum!

2. I adore this simple DIY Easter decoration by Jenny of Days of Chalk & Chocolate. There’s a bit of a sentimental back story too, you should read it!

3. Despite the fact that it’s snowing on and off here again today, we are dreaming of spring and working on our yard. Don’t you just love this winding path and with the hanging lanterns? (Photo via Tradgardsflow)

4. I ADORE everything about this space! It’s got it all; wood, typography, burlap, linen, natural elements. Gah! (Photo by Jennifer Kesler, Design by Anisa Darnell, via Milk and Honey Home)

5. We’re working on our desk/tiny office space (still in the dining room) this weekend to make it a little more functional. It’s been pretty crowded with papers, boxes and two laptops. So we’re adding some shelves and a whole bunch of organization – which we can’t show you just yet!

So that’s it for this week for us. What are your weekend plans? Is is spring weather where you are - or is winter still hanging on? Don’t forget to spring forward early on Sunday morning too!

  1. Wonderful finds! I’m with you… I love everything about the Anissa Darnell space!! The “top secret” tag on your workspace pic made me laugh :-) AND it made me all the more curious to see what the 2 of you have up your sleeves!!
Spring is trying to bloom here. The daffodils and tulips are about 4″ above the ground with the flowers coming soon, I hope! Right now, rain… with rain in the forecast all weekend :-( Oh well… that’s live in RainCouver ;-)
    Enjoy your weekend!!

  2. All lovely pictures (must go to pinterest next and repin some of them if you have them up!) Especially like the garden path–we would love a stone path, but this is a much more budget friendly option in the meantime and looks easy to do! Time to head to grandpa’s farm and pick some stones (that is once the snow melts here!).
