We are so excited to finally be able to show you this project!
Because it was our entry in the first round of Crafting With the Stars {Season 3}, we had to keep it secret. Which was unbelievably difficult because we love to spill the beans about our projects as we go along. But here it is; our Pottery Barn Decorative Ledge Knockoff. Also lovingly referred to as our mantel.
Our “star” for the contest is Gina from The Shabby Creek Cottage and let’s just say, she has been awesome! We’ve chatted many times on the phone and she has given us styling tips and photography pointers, among other nuggets of bloggy wisdom. Love her to bits!
Dean worked his magic again. Taking my concept drawing and planning out the cuts and building the whole thing. What a genius!
Then I took over and finished the ledge with eight – yes 8 – layers of chippy goodness. Yummy!
And styled it all pretty for fall: mini white pumpkins, fall banner on a bookpage background, leaves, cakestand. Just ’cause we love fall decorating so much!

It’s a ridiculously PERFECT knockoff and now I just have to know how you did it! Step by step! OMG! I have been telling my hubs he could do this so I wouldn’t HAVE to spend 400 bucks on the real thing…went to Lowe’s last week to start brainstorming the plan…so, really, how’d you do it? What were your supplies? I gotta know!
