After tonnes of searching around, we actually opted to go with a really inexpensive ceiling light in the living room for now. We may change it or modify it later (there is no bottom to it, so I may tire of seeing the light bulb, but we’ll see). Really we needed a bright cheerful light, for very little money and we needed it right now. And since this light is actually rarely on (we prefer to have the mood lights on around the room) and it is right under the area that we all play wii (picture five-foot-something adults playing Just Dance under a light fixture) it couldn’t be precious.
Would you like to know what we settled on?
I can’t for the life of me remember what it’s called. But it is fresh and different than our last light and high enough for crazy wii playing grown-ups … and it was only $39! Bingo, we have a winner!
