Master Bedroom Snippets

We’re still working away, little by little, on our Master Bedroom. Since this room was essentially created from our war-era bungalow’s original living room, there are many many projects to completing it.

Most of you have already seen our flower sunburst:

The headboard – albeit not finished entirely – is now mounted to the wall. Snug as a bug – thanks to Dean’s amazing abilities!

And I teased you with this mirror project a few days back:

It’s finished now, and hanging in it’s new home. Hmm, I suppose you now know it’s in the master bedroom! We’ll post about that project a little later today.

We are awaiting delivery of two of these beauties to pretty up the bed.

And I found this cutie pie at etsy.com’s JadieCakes. Lurve!

The rather large remaining list looks like this:

  • New nightstand for Dean’s side of the bed
  • Paint my dresser
  • Crown molding and baseboard
  • Put doors on the - cupboard (that houses the linens, since our linen closet is housing tools and paint supplies!)
  • Hang a closet door
  • Paint the old ceiling and all the trim
  • Rugs for either side of the bed – that old wood floor is c-o-l-d this time of year!
  • Two new table lamps and shades
  • Some stencilling or trim for the big empty wall opposite the bed
  • Mount and finish an art poster
  • Hang new chandelier. Which is harder than you’d think because some “smart” former owner wired a ceiling fan in that room without a wall switch! Seriously, it is controlled entirely by the pull-string-thingys!! Poor Dean is going to have to go into the attic and rewire the darn thing. Thus my chandy is sitting on our bedroom floor collecting dust.

So it’s coming together slowly. We haven’t found any of the above list, despite visiting all three local thrift stores last night while the kids were at AWANA.

Anyone else have an on-going project they’d like to share?
